Explain the tax workflow

The Explain the tax workflow provides contextual explanations of tax calculations through the AI agent. The workflow is triggered when a user selects the Explain the tax option on the UI.

When triggered, the AI agent retrieves the relevant AvaTax calculation data and analyzes the transaction context available through the ERP and AvaTax integration. The AI agent evaluates jurisdiction-level tax application, sourcing methodology, exemption status, and applicable special tax scenarios.

The AI agent then generates a clear explanation of how the tax was calculated. The explanation presents jurisdiction-level breakdowns, identifies whether exemptions applied, and clarifies special rules that influenced the calculation. The AI agent translates calculation data into plain language to support user understanding.

Users can interact with the AI agent to request additional clarification or explore specific aspects of the tax calculation. The AI agent responds based on the transaction data and available AvaTax calculation details.
