This model is used in the following APIs:
The form type (always "w4" for this model).
The first name of the employee.
The middle name of the employee.
The last name of the employee.
The name suffix of the employee.
Recipient classification.
The platform is transitioning from tax identifier classifications to recipient entity classifications. New values represent recipient entity types and should be preferred. Deprecated values represent identifier formats and remain supported for backward compatibility only.
Available values:
- INDIVIDUAL: Recipient is an individual
- BUSINESS: Recipient is a business
- UNKNOWN: Recipient classification is unknown
- EIN: (Deprecated - use BUSINESS) Employer Identification Number
- SSN: (Deprecated - use INDIVIDUAL) Social Security Number
- ITIN: (Deprecated - use INDIVIDUAL) Individual Taxpayer Identification Number
- ATIN: (Deprecated - use INDIVIDUAL) Adoption Taxpayer Identification Number
The taxpayer identification number (TIN).
The address of the employee. Required unless exempt.
The city of residence of the employee. Required unless exempt.
The state of residence of the employee. Required unless exempt.
The ZIP code of residence of the employee. Required unless exempt.
The marital status of the employee. Required unless exempt. Available values:
- Single: Single or Married filing separately
- Married: Married filing jointly or qualifying surviving spouse
- MarriedBut: Head of household. Check only if you're unmarried and pay more than half the costs of keeping up a home for yourself and a qualifying individual.
Indicates whether the last name differs from prior records.
The number of allowances claimed by the employee.
The number of dependents other than allowances.
The amount of non-job income.
The amount of deductions claimed.
The additional amount withheld.
Indicates whether the employee is exempt from withholding.
The office code associated with the form.
