To use AvaTax, you must configure a company and a company profile. Without company profiles, all test transactions will result in a $0.00 tax calculation.

To continue with this integration guide, let’s set up a test company right now, similar to the way a merchant would.

For marketplaces, determine whether you will set up the Avalara client as a marketplace or as a merchant selling on a marketplace.
