# Understanding the Accounting module

The accounting module allows the user to carry out all the maintenance of accounting transactional data, which involves the inclusion, alteration, and exclusion of data. These accounting transactional data represent the daily movement of a company, for example, accounting entries, accounting balances, payments, and receipts that influence the calculation of taxes, among other information. In the case of GENERAL REGISTRATIONS, it is possible to consider that more than 90% of the accounting transactional data originate from another system, such as an ERP (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle EBS, Microsoft AX, etc.), to consult or update any missing information. The information generated by this module normally feeds Federal tax obligations (e.g., ECD and ECF), but there are state obligations that also use some accounting information to compose their records.

### Accounting structure

The image below lists the main transactions that are part of the accounting module certification process. More transactions can be included incrementally, according to the complexity of the Brazilian tax journey.
