# MyLodgeTax transactions and returns

Learn how MyLodgeTax uses transaction dates, API timing, customer confirmation, and filing schedules to process your revenue.

Before running MyLodgeTax transactions, it’s important to understand the relationship between:

- Transaction date

- API receipt timing

- Customer confirmation

- Filing and remittance

- Revenue adjustments

## Transaction date acceptance rules

Transaction dates are accepted as follows:

- Revenue with a `TransactionDate` in the current month may be submitted at any time during that month.

- Revenue with a `TransactionDate` in the previous month may be submitted until 04:59:59 a.m. PT on the first day of the current month.

- After 04:59:59 a.m. PT on the first day of the current month, transaction dates from the previous month will no longer be accepted.

For example, January transactions may be submitted:

- At any time during January

- Before February 01, 04:59:59 a.m. PT

After February 01, 04:59:59 a.m. PT, January transaction dates can no longer be submitted.

## API receipt timing

- **API receipt start**

You may begin sending transactions dated in a month starting on the first day of that month.

Example: You can begin submitting March transaction dates on March 01.

- **API receipt cutoff**

You may continue sending transactions dated in that month until 04:59:59 a.m. PT on the first day of the following month.

Example: March transaction dates may be submitted:

    - Throughout March

    - Before April 01, 04:59:59 a.m. PT

After April 01, 04:59:59 a.m. PT, March transaction dates will no longer be accepted.

## Customer confirmation

Customer confirmation defines when prior-month transactions are locked, when customers can review revenue, and when the system automatically confirms revenue if no manual confirmation occurs.

- Customer confirmation begins at 05:00:00 a.m. PT on the first day of the month, immediately after the API receipt cutoff.

- At this point, prior month transactions are locked and customers can review revenue.

- If the customer doesn’t manually confirm revenue:

    - The system automatically confirms at 4:00 p.m. PT on the 5th if any return is due on or before the 10th.

    - The system automatically confirms at 4:00 p.m. PT on the 10th if all returns are due after the 10th.

This means, for revenue from Month X:

- API submissions close on Month X plus one at 04:59:59 a.m. PT.

- Confirmation opens on Month X plus one at 05:00:00 a.m. PT.

- If not manually confirmed, the system automatically confirms on the 5th or 10th at 4:00 p.m. PT, depending on return due dates.

## Jurisdictions that require monthly filing and remittance

For jurisdictions that file monthly:

- The transaction month determines the reporting period.

- Revenue must be received via API by 04:59:59 a.m. PT on the first day of the following month.

- Confirmation begins immediately after at 05:00:00 a.m. PT.

- Filing occurs in the following month based on jurisdiction due dates.

- Customer bank accounts are debited during the month that the return is filed.

## Jurisdictions that require quarterly filing and remittance

For jurisdictions that file quarterly:

- API receipt start and cutoff timing doesn't change based on filing frequency.

- Multiple transaction months are included in 1 quarterly return.

- Filing and remittance occur in the quarter-end filing month.

Note

Although the return is filed annually, revenue submission and confirmation still occur monthly. All transaction months in the fiscal year are included in 1 annual filing.

## Revenue adjustments and postdeadline handling

Revenue adjustments depend on whether the reporting deadline has passed and whether the return has already been filed.

- **Before the 5th or 10th**

    - Revenue may be adjusted if the Adjustment Request Form is received before the 5th or 10th.

    - The return must not have been filed.

    - No fee applies.

- **After the 10th**

    - If revenue is reported after 5:00 p.m. MT on the 10th, a zero dollar return may already have been filed.

    - An amended return may be required.

    - Fees may apply.

    - Once a return has been filed, an amended return is required to change reported revenue.
