# Locations

Understand how ATE stores and manages location data for reporting and functional requirements.

Similar to business entities, ATE allows you to store all of your locations in a single table. Each location provides the following key reporting and functional requirements.

- The bare minimum information for reporting transactions on a return

- Supplemental information that is required for certain states, including the county code, airport code, DEP, and so on.

- Location attributes for specific scenario logic, such as a terminal number for rack logic.

ATE provides some location data out of the box, including generic city and state combinations, IRS bulk system information, and TCN and refinery information. This location information is also updated regularly.
