Guide: Exemption Certificate Management (ECM)

# What to include in your demo

Learn what to include in your integration demo to meet Avalara's requirements.

Your integration should include all requirements mentioned in the previous chapters. Specifically, we want to see the following:

- How you install or enable your integration

- Configuration screen and authentication process

    - Demonstrate inputting your credentials.

    - Show that you have a test connection button and that you've enabled logging.

    - Show that your company code is defined.

- Show the testing scenarios. These can be the same scenarios from the prior **Testing ECM** section:

    - [Create a customer record](/document-management/ist0142714713308/ "Learn how to use the CreateCustomers API to add a new customer record in AvaTax Document Management.")

    - [Retrieve a customer's exemption status](/document-management/hpx1557116280299/ "Learn how to use the GetCustomer API to check if a customer has exemption certificates on file.")

    - [Request a certificate](/document-management/ftk4467694390284/ "Learn how to request an exemption certificate from a customer using ecommerce or ERP integrations.")

    - [Update a customer record](/document-management/xxb9332525073466/ "Learn how to view an example in the system.")
