# ELR sandbox access

Learn how to get access to the ELR Sandbox environment, including prerequisites and onboarding steps.

To use E-Invoicing and Live Reporting (ELR) APIs, you need access to an ELR Sandbox environment.

Before you can access a Sandbox tenant, you must complete at least one of the following:

-   Sign the Technology Partner contract
-   Sign the Not-for-Resale (Sandbox) agreement

Note

If you’re a prospective Technology Partner and haven’t completed one of these steps, contact your Business Development representative for assistance.

After you complete one of these steps, your Business Development representative starts the onboarding process.

As part of this process, you’ll receive an email with a link to set or reset your password. After you set your password, you can access the [ELR User Portal](https://app.sbx.avalara.com/elr-activations) in the Sandbox environment.
