# Verify that the customs duty entitlement is enabled

Learn how to confirm that the customs duty entitlement is active in your AvaTax account.

Before continuing with this guide, verify that you have the customs duty entitlement enabled in your AvaTax account.

1.  Sign in to your AvaTax account.
2.  Select Settings > Where you collect tax.
3.  Verify that the Customs duty tab is available, as in the image below.
    -   If you're a **technology partner**, contact your business development manager if the Customs duty tab isn’t available.
    -   If you're an **API client**, contact your account manager if the Customs duty tab isn’t available.
