# Enable Customs duty collection in Germany

Enable customs duty collection for Germany in your Avalara settings.

Before you begin

Ensure you have the necessary permissions to update tax collection settings in Avalara.

About this task

Enable customs duty collection for Germany to comply with local tax regulations.

Steps

1.  Select Settings > Where you collect tax.
2.  Select the Customs duty tab.
3.  Select the Add a country where you collect customs duty link.
4.  Select the checkbox for Germany, then select Add selected countries.

Result

Customs duty collection for Germany is now enabled in your Avalara settings.
