# Map international materials/products to Avalara T/S pairs

As indicated previously, your integration must allow users to [map their own individual materials](https://developer.avalara.com/communications-integration/design-considerations/map-to-ts-pairs) and products to these Avalara type/service pairs. For the International Advanced Feature, you must ensure that customers can map international products to Avalara T/S pairs. This task is handled through your environment backend and not directly via an AFC API call.
