# Configure your account

To use [AvaTax](https://admin.avalara.com), you must configure a company and set up a tax profile. Without tax profiles, all test transactions will result in a $0.00 tax calculation.

To continue with this integration guide, let’s set up a test company right now using a typical scenario and then add a location for a single beverage alcohol location.
