# Control document recording

To use this connector with other integrations to AvaTax, the user must be able to control which connector records documents to AvaTax. From a technical standpoint, simply use a document type of `PurchaseOrder` on all calls and suppress any nontax calculation calls (that is, [CommitTransaction](https://developer.avalara.com/api-reference/avatax/rest/v2/methods/Transactions/CommitTransaction/), [VoidTransaction](https://developer.avalara.com/api-reference/avatax/rest/v2/methods/Transactions/VoidTransaction/)).
