# Reasonable ratio of transaction and address validation calls to committed documents

As described in the [AvaTax Supplemental Usage Terms](https://www.avalara.com/us/en/legal/avatax-terms.html), AvaTax bills for address validation and tax determination requests. As a result, we expect to see efficiency with your API requests to avoid unnecessary usage. For example, we would expect (on average, including abandoned carts) up to 10 tax calculations per finalized document. In a straight-forward order entry process, the number of calls should be about three to five.
