# Typical ERP workflow

A typical Document Management workflow in an ERP environment includes the following steps:

1.  Create a customer record.
2.  Request a certificate from the customer.
3.  Customer submits certificate information. Upon receipt, the customer record will automatically be updated with the certificate information.
4.  Continue to request certificates from that customer as the original certificates expire.
5.  If the customer moves, or if contact information changes, update the customer record.
6.  Unlink certificates from a customer if the customer relationship ends.
