# Enable/disable AvaTax

**Endpoints used:** N/A

Your integration must provide an option to turn on or off the AvaTax Calculation service independent of any other Avalara product or service. For example, a merchant may want to disable AvaTax for sales tax determination but keep other Avalara services enabled (for example Address Validation).

This requirement is handled through your backend and not directly via an AvaTax API call.
