# User interaction and key screens

Learn about the key screens and user interactions available in the connector application for onboarding and configuration.

The AI assistant appears across multiple screens in the connector application to guide onboarding and ongoing configuration.

Key user interaction includes:

-   **Install complete prompt**: The AI assistant appears immediately after connector installation and provides a direct entry point to the Avalara Setup Center.

-   **Avalara Setup Center (home)**: Serves as the central entry point for guided onboarding and post onboarding monitoring.

-   **Preflight and mapping**: Detects existing AvaTax configuration and supports optional mapping of AvaTax companies to ERP entities.

-   **Company strategy selection**: Guides users through single or multiple company decisions. Approved selections are implemented immediately.

-   **Tax profile and nexus planning**: Proposes comprehensive nexus configuration and performs health checks for existing entities. Approved changes are implemented immediately.

-   **Item classification**: Supports in-app acceptance or rejection of tax code recommendations, item group mapping, and bulk actions.

-   **Customers and certificates (Exemption Certificate Management System)**: Supports customer onboarding, certificate uploads, and CertExpress invitation workflows.

-   **Onboarding summary**: Presents an AI-generated summary of onboarding actions. This screen is informational only.

-   **Finalize and audit**: Creates an immutable audit record and activates monitoring.

-   **Monitoring dashboard**: Provides a persistent view of configuration health, alerts, and follow-up actions.
