# New entitlement workflow

1.  Configure the user's existing AvaTax account to the partner's Avalara-Included platform.
2.  Run [Ping](https://developer.avalara.com/api-reference/avatax/rest/v2/methods/Utilities/Ping/) to verify the merchant's credentials. This will return the account ID if the merchant authenticates with user credentials.
3.  Verify that the account returned in step 2 is accurate per the customer.
4.  Run the [RequestNewEntitlement](https://developer.avalara.com/api-reference/avatax/rest/v2/methods/Provisioning/RequestNewEntitlement/) endpoint for the specified account ID using the provided offer code to include this merchant in the partner's Avalara-Included program.

This API requires the allow-listed user to authenticate.
